Sustainable production: Fair, responsible, local
So, what makes our bikinis and swimsuits sustainable? Our full range of swimwear — swimsuits and bikinis alike — is produced in Portugal and Croatia in close partnership with local manufacturers who share our values. Several of these collaborations have lasted for many years. These long-term relationships ensure fair working conditions, mutual respect, and the highest production standards.
By manufacturing in Europe, we keep transport routes short — reducing emissions. At the same time, this helps us monitor the quality of each MYMARINI piece.
Sustainable materials: Regenerated nylon with an impact
There are unique challenges for the swimwear industry that go beyond the fashion industry in general; unlike other types of clothing, bathing suits and bikinis by necessity need to use synthetic materials in order to be quick drying, high performance, and able to keep their shape to last through many seasons of swimming pools and ocean dives.
All of our garments intended for swimming use synthetic fabrics made from ECONYL® — an innovative yarn crafted from recycled plastics and nylon waste, including discarded fishing nets, carpet scraps, and industrial plastic. This not only saves resources, but also gives existing materials a second life. ECONYL® is not only more eco friendly in terms of its environmental impact — it’s also durable, flexible, and comfortable to wear.
Looking ahead, we’re already working on making our eco-friendly swimwear “circular” — meaning fully recyclable — in the future.
