Sustainable materials

That's what your MYMARINI is made of

For our styles, we use the highest quality fabrics we can find on the market so that you can enjoy your MYMARINI for a particularly long time. We particularly focus on sustainable materials. We make sure that they are free from toxins, are produced fairly and do not endanger nature or other species.

From fibers to finish: we ensure that our sustainable materials are of high quality, durable and long-lasting. Ecological and social factors are important to us throughout the entire value chain of our products. That's why we only work with certified fabric traders, have chosen production facilities in Europe and pay attention to fair working conditions and environmentally friendly technologies. You can find out more about this in our sustainability report. Here, we give you an insight into the materials we use for our MYMARINI designs.

ECONYL® regenerated nylon

ECONYL® is the brand name of the regenerated polyamide we use for our styles. It is a recycled nylon yarn made from 100% pre- and post-consumer waste, including fabric scraps, carpeting, industrial plastics and fishing nets. It comes from Slovenia and is further processed in Italy. The use of such regenerated resources reduces the ecological footprint of your MYMARINI and decreases textile waste that would otherwise end up in landfills. This makes ECONYL® not only a sustainable choice compared to conventional polyamide, but also helps to conserve valuable resources and reduce the production of new materials.

But that's not all which makes this material so special. ECONYL® is extremely durable and resilient. The material retains its shape and color even when exposed to salt water and sunlight, making it ideal for swimwear and sportswear. It also dries quickly.

All our bikini and swimsuit collections made from ECONYL® yarn are certified to OEKO TEX Standard 100, ISO 14001 and the Global Recycling Standard (GRS). We use ECONYL® for almost all our swimwear fabrics and some ready-to-wear styles.

Elastane

Elastane is a synthetic fiber consisting mainly of polyurethane. It is a component of our swimwear fabrics and ensures that our swimwear is and remains elastic. We use a high-quality, durable elastane to keep the designs in shape for a long time. The material is sourced from Slovenia.

Lenzing™ EcoVero™

Since 2024, we have also been using fabrics made from LENZING™ ECOVERO™, a high-quality viscose fiber from Lenzing AG, for our ready-to-wear. The cellulose required for production is sourced from wood, a renewable raw material. Conventional productions often use wood from the rainforest, whose origin is not clear for which reason it is unclear whether it was harvested legally. The manufacturer states that the origin of the environmentally friendly ECOVERO viscose can be transparently traced, the fabric is FSC and PEFC-certified, uses 50% less water and energy than conventional viscose and requires shorter transportation routes. In addition, the water being used can be reused after it has been purified in a particularly eco-friendly way.

The fabric is not only very sustainable thanks to its environmentally friendly production. ECOVERO™ viscose is particularly light and breezy, making it ideal for warm summer days. Our ultra-light summer dresses and pants made from this material are particularly breathable and air-permeable.

Organic Cotton

Cotton is one of the most commonly used materials in the fashion industry. To date, however, less than 1% of the cotton used worldwide is organically grown. We only use organic cotton. This requires up to 88% less water and 62% less energy compared to conventional cotton, as 80% of the fields are irrigated with rainwater. Depending on the collection and product line, the organic cotton fibers are processed in the Czech Republic and Portugal. Our fabrics are then dyed and finished at a partner company in Germany. All material processes are GOTS-certified and energy efficiency is particularly important along the entire value chain.

We also particularly like working with organic cotton because it feels soft on the skin, non-scratchy and breathable. It impresses with its durability and is pleasantly easy to clean.

Linen

Linen is also one of the sustainable materials that we use for parts of our collection. Linen is a natural fiber obtained from the stems of the flax plant. This plant does not require the use of pesticides or fertilizers and also needs less water than other plant fibres. Linen has a cooling effect, is dirt-resistant, breathable and very durable. Just like our organic cotton, linen feels light on the skin and is also ideal for people with allergies.

TENCEL™ lyocell

TENCEL™ Lyocell is the most sustainable of all synthetic fibers and was developed by Lenzing AG. It is made from natural wood fibers that come from certified and controlled forestry (FSC), is soft and breathable. The spinning process is a closed cycle in which the spinning solvents are recycled and reused several times. This saves significantly more water and energy than the production of other synthetic fibers. The usage of chemicals is also minimized and the waste products are reused. TENCEL™ Lyocell is also biodegradable and recyclable.
The fiber feels pleasantly soft on the skin. It is breathable and therefore ensures a high level of comfort in both winter and summer. TENCEL™ Lyocell is also particularly robust and therefore also impresses with its long service life.
